Cuba Restricts Blogger from Receiving Journalism Award

Bloggers have worked adamantly to receive the same kind of prestige as mainstream journalists. Their on-the-ground, grassroots coverage is in many cases exemplary, and especially in a nation like Cuba, such talent should be awarded. It is therefore tragic that Cuba has denied an accredited blogger permission to travel to U.S. to be awarded a journalism prize. CNN’s Shasta Darlington reports.
