Kazakhstan is launching its first TV channel devoted entirely to sport.  The Minister of Culture and Information, Mukhtar Kul-Mukhammed, announced that the “Kazsport” channel will start broadcasting on July 1.  It is the first time that Kazakhstan will have had its own sports channel.   The channel will broadcast in two languages all of the major sporting events in Kazakhstan and many from abroad.  It will also broadcast sports news bulletins and specially commissioned films about sport.  The channel will operate for 14 hours a day and will be able to be received by 65% of the population.
